After the death of freesheet thelondonpaper last week I was surprised when I got handed a new free newspaper in Angel, London this evening. Called Blogpaper, it was a short newspaper with a range of articles all sourced from blogs sumbitted to theblogpaper.co.uk and then voted on by the online community. The articles with the highest votes get printed into the free paper. No advertising or subscriptions as far as I can see so will be interesting to see how they go about monetising it in the future. I like their concept of democratising journalism, and appreciated the format – just right for a quick read on the way home on the underground….
